Permanent Hair Reduction
Laser or light energy is selectively absorbed by the melanin in hair
follicles and converted to heat, diffusing to and injuring stem cells
in the bulb and bulge. Effective hair reduction can only be achieved
during the active growth phase and hair reduction is considered
permanent when a significant amount of hair does not return for a
period of time longer than the complete growth cycle.
After a series of treatments, most hair is permanently removed.
However, if hair does regrow it will be finer and lighter than before. |
Photorejuvination
BBL BroadBand Light technology utilizes the power of pulsed light to
deliver excellent phototherapy results. By selecting the appropriate
wavelength or filter, the physician will be able to treat a broad
range of skin conditions caused by skin aging and sun exposure.
The light energy delivered by the BBL gently heats the upper layers of
the skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas stimulates the skin
cells to generate new collagen. This process helps restore the skin to
its natural stage. In addition, the photothermal energy targets and
eliminates many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the
unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions.

Pigmented Lesions
BBL BroadBand Light technology and MicroLaserPeel (MLP) treat
sun-damaged and aging skin effectively.
The light energy delivered by the BBL will gently be absorbed by the
unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions in the upper layers
of the skin. Over the next few days the pigmented lesions will darken
and fall off.
MicroLaserPeel works differently. It is an intra-epidermal laser peel
that precisely remove the outermost layers of the skin. Pigmented
lesions can be removed by full-face or spot-treat superficial
resurfacing.
Either procedure allows patients to experience quick recovery with
smoother, healthier, more vibrant skin, and an immediate change in
skin texture and tightness. |

Vascular Conditions
Laser or light energy is selectively absorbed by the oxyhemoglobin
resulting in heating of the blood vessels.
With the correct wavelengths and fluence, the vascular lesion will be
heated to above 70 oC. At that temperature, blood vessels will break
down and shrink which leads to a reduction of the vascular lesion. |

Skin Resurfacing
A laser beam at 2940 nm wavelength will be delivered through a
computer controlled device that automatically scans the area of skin
being treated. Physicians can control the ablation and coagulation
depth for either light or deep peels.
As we age, the effects of sun damage and environmental pollutants take
their toll on our skin, causing it to wrinkle, develop sun spots and
look tired. A Sciton skin resurfacing procedure can reverse these
effects and restore a healthy look to the skin.
There are two approaches to resurfacing: full field, and fractional.
In full field resurfacing, the entire surface area of the skin is
treated. A laser beam is scanned across the treatment area and
precisely removes a layer of skin. The body will naturally replace the
old, damaged skin that was removed, with a fresh, healthy layer.
Treatments can range from shallow (which might be appropriate for
eliminating fine lines, sun spots and tired-looking skin) to deep
(which is often used to improve skin tone/texture and eliminate deep
wrinkles, even in difficult areas like upper lip lines and crow's
feet).
In fractional resurfacing, the laser removes pinpoint columns of skin,
leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This approach allows the laser
to penetrate very deeply for effective collagen remodeling, while the
surrounding intact tissue promotes rapid healing. |
BOTOX®
BOTOX Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical, physician-administered
treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines
between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only
treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA).
One 10-minute treatment-a few tiny injections-and within days
there's
a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the
brows, which can last up to 4 months. Results may vary.
BOTOX Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium
botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that
cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.
In 2005, almost 3.3 million procedures were performed with
FDA-approved BOTOX Cosmetic.
RESTYLANE® & PERLANE®
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occourring substance in your skin. It's job is to help provide fullness and elasticity. Over time, skin loses hyaluronic acid. And as it diminishes, skin loses volume, increasing the chances of wrinkles and folds to appear.
Restylane and Perlane provide rejuvinating cosmetic beauty treatments for a natural, younger-looking you. Restylane® is the world's best-selling dermal filler. It is well tolerated, nonsurgical and long lasting (usually around six months).
Restylane and Perlane are both composed of hyaluronic acid. Perlane has larger gel particles and is intended to be injected deeper within the skin.
There's no stopping it; your skin is going to change with age. But the good news is that there is something you can do about it.
Here are the facts:
- Young skin is smooth and full.
- Restylane and Perlane is injected into the skin to restore volume to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).
- Restylane and Perlane gives natural looking results by restoring your skin's fullness.

Spring Hill Dermatology provides a variety of chemical peels for clients interested in gentle treatments to dramatic results.
Glycolic Peels: a superfiicial chemical peel. Immediate results

shrink, brown lesions fade and the overall texture of the skin
improves.
Vitalize Peels: A slightly more intense chemical peel, offering more
rapid results.
TCA peels: These peels can vary in intensity offering from very mild
to very dramatic results. Benefits include wrinkle and scar reduction,
decreasing the signs of sun damage, and improcing pore size and
